Health Support Services expects to issue a public Request for Tender (RFT) for a forthcoming Phamaceuticals contract to supply product to the state health system.  This RFT would seek to result in a new contract that would replace the current Contract 902, when it expires in August 2011.

 

The RFT is anticipated to be released in the next day or two, once approved by the NSW Health Department.  Over the last few months various elements of the RFT have already been issued in draft form via the e-tenders website, so that comment from industry might be received to ensure any relevant issues have had a chance to be canvassed.  With the draft-for-comment phase completed the release of the actual RFT is the next primary phase of the tendering and contracting exercise.  (Shortly following that RFT release, as was mentioned in Draft documents, a Request for Proposal (RFP) for possible supply chain & distribution solutions will be released, as well as a separate RFT for the supply and delivery of hand hygiene products.)

 

In concert with the main Pharmacy RFT release set for within the next day or two, an industry briefing is hereby announced.  Potential tenderers are encouraged to attend this, and ask questions if they have any about the process.  A short demonstration of the Health Evaluation Spreadsheet, which incorporates a means of automatically uploading a company’s pharmacy product data from the National Product Catalogue (administered by GS1), will be given.  This tool has been trialled in recent weeks and will assist tenderers should they choose to use it. (NOTE: Other support, such as Webinars, will also be available and described in the RFT or a separate e-tenders notice).
