New proposals for planning and development are subjected to a variety of traffic and transport assessments, depending on the approval authority, the local government area and the significance of the roads or network(s) involved.
Roads and Maritime Services (Roads and Maritime) is seeking Request of Information (RFI) to investigate and demonstrate the feasibility of, and to specify and develop a traffic mesoscopic simulation model covering the Sydney Metropolitan area. Should it be deemed practical and feasible, then procurement for a model may be pursued.
This traffic model will provide mesoscopic simulation of light and heavy vehicle traffic in Sydney for different time periods of an average weekday during school term.
Please note: this is a RFI and we are seeking innovative, creative and if appropriate disruptive approaches to how we can better plan and assess Sydney’s traffic and transport for the future. Applications are encouraged from across the modelling, software, traffic and transport sectors.
The submission deadline is 3:00pm Friday 25th May 2018.
