Tender Details

RailCorp is inviting Proposals for the formation of a Panel of operators to provide Emergency Bus Services (“the Service”) to the Corporation.  These bus services are required to replace or supplement train services in the event of train or infrastructure breakdown. 

The Panel is planned to commence on 1 May 2010 and continue until 30 April 2013. This period may be extended for 2 further period of 2 years, plus 2 further periods of 12 months (total period of up to 7 years) at the sole discretion of the Corporation.

The RFP covers the CityRail passenger rail network bounded by Nowra, Scone, Dungog, Lithgow, Bathurst and Goulburn.  The overall area for the provision of the Service, is divided into smaller geographical areas as detailed in Part C of the Specification.  Rates for provision of the Service may be submitted for any or all of the areas detailed and must remain valid for the period of the Panel stated herein.

RFT Type

Request for Proposals - An invitation for expressions of interest / seeking preliminary proposals. In many cases these may be used as a basis for shortlisting tenderers, along with other criteria such as expertise and experience. Prospective tenderers are initially evaluated for their proposal against the relevant selection criteria. A number of those who best meet the criteria are invited to tender. For complex or some other types of procurement, where the product or service outcomes are highly dependent on the content of the proposals received from Tenderers, the outcome may be negotiated.
