Transport Asset Holding Entity of New South Wales / Engagement of Technical Writers - 2006/1409

The purpose of this document is to invite tenderers to submit proposals for the completion of a technical writing project in two component parts ? Part 1 and Part 2.

Part 1 comprises of a series of site-specific procedural/operational manuals for use in signal boxes across the Sydney Metropolitan Rail Network. This documentation project will cover a total of 33 signal boxes, which monitor and operate 68 workstations.

Part 2 comprises of a series of procedural manuals and work instructions for use by Train Planning division in the development and production of operational timetables.

In both cases, a robust system of document control is a key deliverable.

Parts 1 and 2 are to start concurrently. At the completion of the shorter of the two writing projects (Part 2) all uncommitted resources would then be migrated to Part 1, to achieve its delivery time frame to approximately twelve (12) months.

Tenderers are therefore invited to submit their prices for BOTH "parts" of work. This can be in the form of tender prices for either two discrete document-writing projects, or as a tender price for a single project in two parts. It is RailCorp's intention to award the successful tenderer with both document-writing projects,

Sample documents will be made available for inspection and evaluation, upon request.

The successful Tenderer may be required to attend Rail Industry Safety Induction (RISI) training and gain certification if data collection is required at certain RailCorp depots and stations. If required, RailCorp will arrange and provide appropriate training.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender.
