Tender Details
RailCorp’s XPT fleet consists of cars between 11 and 22 years only, which are expected to remain in service for at least a further 10 years. The XPT fleet consists of 60 Trailer Cars and 19 Power Cars.
The purpose of this RFT is for the renewal, supply, and installation of the chilled water system and filtration equipment for the water reticulation system in 60 XPT trailer cars, with 3 number in spare. Currently Trailer Cars have a chilled water system which is required to be replaced with the new system conforming to the RailCorp’s requirements and complying to the standards and regulations.
Tenders may offer ‘supply only’ (Option 1) or ‘supply and installation’ (Option 2) of the new chilled water systems and new filtration for the water reticulation system.
The works shall constitute Separable Portions as below:
Separable Portion 1 - Provision of Prototype in one Trailer Car
Separable Portion 2 – All remaining works
The Contractor shall provide all necessary test certificates and "As Built" documentation 5 working days prior to the date for delivery of each Separable Portion.

RailCorp has adopted an electronic tendering system using the Internet, which has the capacity to allow viewing of documents, downloading or ordering of the RFT, and the lodgement of Tenders in appropriate circumstances.
While Parts A, B, C, D, and E can be read directly on-line, Appendix E1 of Part E (a collection of sketches and photographs) is available only in hard copy and can be purchased from the Contracts & Procurement Unit.

A meeting will be held at the site and all prospective Tenderers should meet RailCorp’s representative commencing 10:30am on Wednesday 16 November 2005 at

Everyone needs to have Safety Induction, Track Safety Awareness certification and have to follow the safe working rules and procedures.
