Tender Details

This project is a Design & Construct project. The project proposes a selection of maintenance and associated works to be carried out on the Main Exhibition Hall of the Thirlmere Rail Heritage Centre. In summary, the works will include but are not limited to the following: 1. A design that meets the approval of RailCorp for all works in the contract included the summary in points 2-9 below; 2. Repair of guttering of the hall; 3. The removal of rust and repainting of all the existing vertical steel members and bracing on the outer edge of the structure; 4. Replacement of all down pipes; 5. Installation of a complying roof anchorage system; 6. Removal of all translucent roof panels and a single row of metal roof panel adjacent to each translucent panel; 7. Installation of new translucent panels two panel wide; 8. New ridge line capping and facia (including capping) for entire roof; 9. Sealing all interfaces between any new roofing element and the existing roofing elements; The Rail Heritage Centre is not part of the electrified network. Works can be carried out during normal work hours, however trains do enter and leave the site and hence this risk must be managed by the contractor.

Tenderers have usually been pre-qualified, accredited, or selected for the type of work and financial range. Competitive bids called from a standing offer (panel / period) contracts would also use this type.
