Tender Details

The purpose of the Fit for Work Health Promotion Program is designed to address the health and fitness needs of Rail Safety Workers (RSW)

The purpose of the Fit for Work Health Promotion Program is designed to address the health and fitness needs of Rail Safety Workers (RSW). The program aims to supplement the National Standard Health Assessments and provides for an integration of existing health and wellness initiatives. The program assists employees to understand and improve (or maintain) personal levels of health and fitness. Participants will be coached through the critical steps of behavioural change to establish and maintain skills for health and fitness for life.

All personal individual health information obtained during the program will remain confidential. RailCorp will only be provided with general statistics. This information would then be used to target health promotion initiatives to address specific health risks. The approach is to address issues at both the individual and corporate levels. This means that the services provided are aimed towards supporting the health and well-being of employees to the extent that it produces measurable results for the organisation.

Tenders are now invited from professional organisations specialising in the provision of workplace health promotion programs. The key deliverables of the proposed engagement consist of, but are not limited to:

Health & Fitness Assessments

Health and fitness assessments are to be conducted at the beginning and end of the program so as to evaluate the individual's progress and resultant changes. A mid program self-assessment is also required to help assess individual progress and further encourage behaviour change and modification.

As part of the health and fitness assessments, one-on-one counselling is to be provided to discuss individual needs to plan, establish goals and facilitate the individual through the critical steps of behavioural change to establish and maintain skills for life.

Seminars & Self Directed Programs

A number of seminars will be required in a sequential format to build on the previous one so as to enhance employee's skill and understanding on each topic. It is a requirement that a series of self-directed programs are developed to supplement the seminars and further support the employee in behaviour modification and self assessment.

Program Management & Reporting

The Tenderer shall nominate a Contractor's Representative to manage the delivery of services. The Contractor's Representative will be responsible for the effective delivery and administration of the contract and for good working relationships with the RailCorp's Representative, managers and Delegate to ensure the effective operation of the Contract.

The Tenderer will be required to assist RailCorp in the promotion of the program to each of the Business Groups. The Contractor will be required to develop presentations launching the programme.

As part of the program management fee the Tenderer will be required to conduct a basic task analysis to modify the relevant health and fitness assessment requirements for each unit within the selected business groups. The task analysis will need to be completed prior to commencing service delivery.
