Transport Asset Holding Entity of New South Wales / Provision of Executive Recruitment Services for PPP Rolling Stock Project - 2007/1433

Rail Corporation New South Wales (RailCorp) has a fleet of electric rolling stock that includes 498 non-air-conditioned carriages. These carriages are between 24 and 34 years old and are approaching the end of their useful life. On 7 April 2004 the Premier announced that the rolling stock replacement would be accelerated so that the new fleet would be delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP). Following a competitive bid process, a contract was awarded to Reliance Rail in December 2006 for the design, supply, manufacture, financing and maintenance over 30 years of a fleet of 626 double deck rail cars to replace the non-airconditioned (R&S) stock and provide for future growth. Reliance Rail will also construct and operate new maintenance facility at Auburn for the new trains. The PPP Rollingstock Acquisition Project needs to significantly increase its management team over the next six months to cope with the increasing workload following the award of the contract. The project team will manage the implementation of the project by the successful consortia Reliance Rail, integrating the supply and commissioning of the rolling stock and maintenance facilities with a range of other infrastructure, enabling works and training programs undertaken by RailCorp. RailCorp is inviting proposals to provide executive recruitment services in respect of the some of the senior positions for the PPP project.
