City Rail is experiencing patronage growth. Passenger journeys have increased 3% year-to-date to end March and the growth is continuing. The increased demand is putting pressure on ticket selling facilities. RailCorp is undertaking a number of actions that seek to reduce the long queues being experienced and one of them is the manufacture of Portable Ticket Booths. Mobile Booths will be used at individual locations in the short term whilst the impacts of other ticket queue reduction initiatives take effect. A ticket booth has been designed that is mobile and may be rolled into position to provide additional ticket selling capability in the peak periods at required locations. RailCorp is now inviting tenders for the supply and ercection of mobile ticket selling booths
