The Services under the APR process includes the following five (5) Rail Track Work categories:

The Services under the APR process includes the following five (5) Rail Track Work categories:

Category a)    Re-railing         

Category b)    Track Reconditioning (Timber and Concrete Sleepers)

Category c)    Partial re-sleepering in Timber and Concrete

Category d)    Turnout Refurbishment 

Category e)    Transom Renewal

The Applicant may offer one or more of the above Rail Track Work Service categories.

The Services required are for the preparation of necessary site/project specific management plans, resource competent personnel, provide materials, plant, equipment and supervision, construct/install one or more of the applied rail track work services, test & commission the completed works, apply management system (QA, OH&S, Rail Safety and environmental) controls, project management and close out works in accordance with specific RailCorp requirements (Services).

In order to perform the Services under the above five categories the Applicant may require resourcing of competent personnel to carry out the following ancillary services:

1.              Worksite Protection Services (WPS),

2.              Aluminothermic Welding  Services (AWS)

3.              Track Assessment Services (TAS)

RailCorp has established panels of suppliers (Panels) for these ancillary services. In resourcing the ancillary services the Applicant may elect either to use the established RailCorp panels or nominate to use its own personnel or suppliers other than that on panels. In case where the Applicant elects to use its own personnel or suppliers other than that on RailCorps panels in providing the ancillary services the Applicant must demonstrate possessing management systems and competency requirements similar to that of the existing RailCorps panels for these ancillary Services.  

RailCorp requires the Services to be performed under the Principal Contractor arrangement or under the direct supervision of RailCorp. The Principal Contracting arrangement is to provide the complete package of services that include Rail Track Work services and all required ancillary services (WPS, AWS and TAS). RailCorp will provide all required ancillary services (WPS, AWS & TAS) when RailCorp undertakes the supervisory roll for directly supervised Rail Track Works Services.
