Tender Details

The Principal requires various types of PCB Free ( 2ppm) wet redundant electrical equipment, decanted SF6 electrical equipment and dry electrical equipment to be collected from the Principal's sites and transported to the Contractor's facilities for dismantling and disposal in an approved manner.

The equipment may be any type of redundant substation switchyard electrical equipment.

The equipment may include, but is not limited to, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, bushings, surge arresters, capacitors and air break switches.  The equipment generally contains a large amount of porcelain and has been filled with oil.  A small quantity of instrument transformers may have been sand/oil or SF6 insulated.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender. Tenderers will normally be required to demonstrate in their tender that they have the necessary skills, resources, experience, financial capacity, and in some cases licences, accreditations, etc., to fulfil the tender requirements.

Additional Details / Instructions

All Tenderers must attend a mandatory site inspection to be held on Thursday, 4th July 2013 at 11.00am at the Principal's Newcastle 330kV Substation, located at The Boulevarde, Killingworth  NSW  2278.

From Sydney take the Toronto exit off Freeway, turn right onto Cessnock Road towards Toronto and take the first left onto Wakefield Road.  After 8km turn left onto The Broadway and after 2km turn right onto The Boulevarde, Substation is 500m on right.

The site inspection is to enable all interested parties the opportunity to inspect a cross section of sample redundant equipment that may be required to be collected for disposal under the terms and conditions of the contract.

All parties interested in attending the site inspection must register their interest with the Contact Officer by Wednesday, 3rd July 2013.

All persons attending the site inspection must wear long sleeve shirts, trousers enclosed footwear and safety shirt or vest and a safety helmet.
