TransGrid / Canberra to Williamsdale 132kV Transmission Line Upgrade - 1286

The Works under the Contract includes the conversion of 48km of the existing Canberra to Cooma 132 kV transmission line from the present double circuit 132 kV horizontal configuration to a single circuit 330 kV horizontal configuration between the existing Canberra substation and the new Williamsdale substation site.  

(a)   The conversion of approximately 48 km of the existing Canberra to Cooma double circuit 132kV steel tower transmission line from its present 132kV double circuit configuration to single circuit 330kV configuration between Canberra 330/132kV Substation and the Williamsdale 330/132kV Substation, south of Canberra, which is currently under construction. 

(b)   The replacement of one earthwire on the above line with OPGW

(c)   The supply and erection of three new 330kV steel towers at Williamsdale and the erection of conductors, earthwire/OPGW between Williamsdale Substation and the new 330kV transmission line.

(d)   The supply and installation of the landing span for a new 330kV switchbay at Canberra Substation. 

(e)   The dismantling of two short sections of temporary 132kV wood pole transmission line at Canberra and a two span 330kV section at Williamsdale.

 

The Contractor will supply all material other than insulators which shall be provided by the Principal.

A mandatory site inspection for the work is to be held on Wednesday 18^th August, 2010 commencing at 11.00 am at the Canberra Substation which is located at Parkwood Road HOLT ACT. It is proposed to complete the inspection at the Williamsdale substation which is located approximately 3 kms south of Williamsdale on the Monaro Hwy.

Attendees are advised that 4 wheel drive vehicles will be required.

 

 

Tenders shall be for the whole of the works specified. Tenders for part of the works will not be considered.
