TransGrid / Communications Design, Configuration & Maintenance System - Q93/11

The Principal (TransGrid) wishes to replace its current communications management, design, commissioning and configuration tool. This tool is used to manage The Principal’s Fibre & Microwave networks, and the logical services that run on the network.

 

The Principal wishes to:

·         Replace the current MS access and SQL based system;

·         Introduce efficiencies in design & analysis, through specialised software;

·         Increase effectiveness in data gathering and storage;

·         Enhance efficiencies and effectiveness in work practices throughout the provisioning chain;

·         Provide reporting on capacity, services and fault affected services;

·         Provide the ability to cross reference between physical and logical network components;

·         Increase automation of basic tasks to aid the speed at which services can be provided;

·         Introduce mobile capabilities for field staff to access designs and drawings;

·         Provide comprehensive training and user guides for key users; and

·         Include if possible the management of the principals Ethernet network, Firewalls and VoIP network including VLAN management, routing management, rules and dial plans.

 

The Principal seeks the supply of off the shelf software and implementation services to replace the current system.
