TransGrid / Purchase and Removal of Two Power Transformers and One Shunt Reactor - Q94/11

This Specification calls for the purchase, removal from site and disposal of two (2) power transformers, one (1) reactor and  their accessories and associated equipment from the Principal’s Kempsey, Taree and Armidale Substations, as follows:

Kempsey – 1 power transformer and associated equipment

Taree – 1 power transformer and associated equipment

Armidale – 1 reactor and associated equipment

The works generally covers the purchase, site dismantling (as required) of each of the units, loading, transportation from site and the subsequent disposal of components in accordance with relevant government legislation. The work is to be completed within 60 days from the date of Possession of Site for each location.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender. Tenderers will normally be required to demonstrate in their tender that they have the necessary skills, resources, experience, financial capacity, and in some cases licences, accreditations, etc., to fulfil the tender requirements.

Tenderers shall attend a mandatory meeting at the Kempsey, Taree and Armidale sites on the dates and times specified below to fully acquaint themselves with matters and conditions affecting the work as follows:

Taree 132kV Substation	Muldoon Street, Taree 2430 When heading north continue straight ahead into Commerce Street after crossing the bridge over the Manning River. Turn right at Muldoon Street (Golf Course) and the Substation is on the right after the rail crossing.	23/11/2011 12:30pm – 1:30pm

All persons attending the site inspection must wear long sleeve shirts, trousers, enclosed footwear, safety helmets and high visibility shirts or vests. 

It shall be the responsibility of the Tenderer to establish fully during this inspection the extent of the work under the Contract.  The Principal does not assume any responsibility for deductions, conclusions or interpretations which the Tenderer may draw or make as a result of their inspection of the Site or which the Tenderer may draw, form or place on data or information supplied to the Tenderer by any person.
