Tender Details

The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), through the Heritage Near Me (HNM) program, are delivering the Local Heritage Strategic Projects Incentives program.

The Local Heritage Strategic Projects (LHSP) program will provide support to local communities to enhance and protect their local heritage assets. All projects supported through the Local Heritage Strategic Project program will be developed and implemented in collaboration with the Heritage Near Me team. Applicants for the LHSP are required to submit an Expression of Interest to the HNM program for their project. If the project is assessed to be eligible and meet the priorities outlined in the LHSP guidelines, the HNM team work with the applicant to further scope and design the project.

In some cases, the project design stage involves seeking quotes for works to be completed as part of the proposed project. Once quotes are received and assessed and a project plan is completed, it is submitted for review to the LHSP review panel. If the project is assessed to be a priority project at this stage, the project will be implemented as outlined in the project plan, including contracting the recommended supplier from the quotation process.

In this instance, a quotation is sought for Stage 1 of a project in the Condobolin area of NSW to engage a heritage or cultural planning specialist to develop a heritage assessment for a large historic woolshed complex at Booberoi Station. This heritage assessment will form the basis for a proposal to list the complex as a heritage item on Schedule 5 of Cobar Shire Council’s LEP, as well as provide valuable information regarding the significance and condition of the heritage fabric and recommendations for conservation and restoration. This project should also include an options study for potential adaptive reuse options to guide the short, medium and long-term conservation and use of the complex. This options study should consider a range of potential uses, and critically consider the economic and social opportunities given the site’s location. The information contained in these documents will be used to guide the implementation of priority building conservation works in Stage 2 of the project in conjunction with a building conservation training program to be delivered with local community organisations and qualified training providers.
