The Flight Operations Unit (ParkAir) is a part of NPWS is part of the Office of Environment & Heritage, within the Department of Premier and Cabinet. ParkAir has the primary function of supporting internal field operations in fire and incident management and specialised field operations such as aerial feral animal control, pest species management and winching or sling load work.
$3.5 million of capital funding over FY 2017-18 and FY 2018-19 years have been issued by treasury for ParkAir to meet safety standards. It is proposed that two owned rotary aviation assets (helicopters) ParkAir 2 VH - NPD (AS 350B2) ParkAir 1 VH - NPS (AS350B3) are replaced with newer machines with less flying hours.
Replacement of these assets aims to:
• Maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the aviation activities undertaken by ParkAir and meet safety requirements
• Increase the Agency’s flexibility and versatility to meet changing operational needs as demand for aviation services continue to grow and evolve (based on Aviation Service Demand Analysis (ASDA) report)
• Standardise the fleet operated by ParkAir to recent model H125B3e
• Lead to significant savings on maintenance costs over the next two years
• Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness and increase the Agency's emergency response capability

A Tenderer briefing and inspection of the Helicopters will be held on the date, time, and place, indicated below. The contact officer/s of the Agency will be available at that time to answer any queries regarding this RFT and the tender process generally. Names of persons attending the Tenderer briefing must be provided to the contact officer at least three working days prior to the date. No more than 2 persons from each Tenderer will be permitted to attend the Tenderer briefing. Any costs incurred by the respondent in participating in this RFT will not be covered by the Agency. This includes travel costs.
