Tender Details
The NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service is pleased to issue to you the attached Request for Tender relating to works to improve visitor access and facilities at Green Cape Lighthouse within Beowa National Park. This work is being undertaken under the NSW Government's Improving Access to National Parks (IANP) program which aims to increase visitor safety, improve accessibility, and meet growing demand for visitor services and experiences within NSW national parks.
Green Cape is approximately 45 kilometres from Eden by road. Visitor access is provided from the Princes Highway via unsealed, all weather roads suitable for 2wd vehicles. The precinct is currently utilised for day use, walking, whale watching and taking in the coastal views via the existing lookout. The historic Green Cape Lightstation and Lightstation Keeper’s Cottage are an easy walk from the car park.
The existing carpark capacity and configuration will not adequately service projected visitation, which is expected to include a combination of vehicle based day users, pack campers, and small tour buses associated with the Light to Light Walk and the cruise ship market.
The project will include an expanded carpark (28 car spaces) with turning circle for small buses, a new shelter and footpaths.
Important Note: The contact officer will be unavailable between the dates 24 December 2022 to 6 January 2023.
