Tender Details
The EPA seeks to engage a contractor to undertake hydrographic surveys of riverbeds.
New South Wales experienced severe storms and flooding in March 2021 with the areas affected extending from the Hawkesbury River to the Queensland border. This natural disaster led to significant amounts of anthropogenic flood debris in rivers, estuaries, and adjacent coastlines in NSW. The Australian Government declared many parts of the east coast a natural disaster zone. The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has been leading the shoreline clean-up programs in NSW with assistance from supporting agencies.
The intended scope of work aims to identify potential submerged debris in flood-impacted rivers to reduce risks to river users. This involves conducting appropriate hydrographic surveys of priority areas in flood-impacted rivers to identify submerged flood debris. The survey results will inform implementation of a clean-up program to remove identified submerged flood debris that are potentially hazardous to river users and/or the environment.
