Tender Details

Scope Overview:

The outdoor education galley will encompass an area of approximately 90 square meters and will be constructed in a rectangular shape with the office attached on the eastern end. The building will be raised and will have a wooden floor with open sides and will also contain a bench top and a sink. The building will hold a maximum of 50 people.

Access to the site will be via the only road which leads into the Mountain Maid precinct. This road is a dirt base only and should not require any grading prior to the construction of the building.

Copeland Tops State Conservation Area is located approximately 18kn west of Gloucester. It lies within the Manning Catchment and the Barrington Sub catchment, Gloucester Shire council and the Forster Local Aboriginal Land Council. The Outdoor education galley is located in the enlarged cartilage of the precinct area as determined in the Conservation Management Plan. The grid reference for the site is 389469 E and 6458438N. The Mountain Maid precinct maybe located via Old Copeland Road (off Barrington Tops Forest Road). A locked gate is present at the entrance to the site.

Mandatory Meeting:

A Mandatory pre-tender site meeting will be conducted on Tuesday 4 September 2007 - commencing at 10:00am at the carpark for Copeland Tops State Conservation Area.

No access to the site is provided during the tender period, accept for the above meeting.
Only those companies that attend the meeting will be eligible to submit a valid tender.

Works include (see RFT documents for full description):

Thirty four (34) footings will be required to be dug for the structure. The exterior footings will be 600 x 600 x 450mm (minimum depth) and the interior footings will be 450 x 450 x 300mm minimum depth. However, the footings situated near the old toilet are required to be 300 deeper than the pit base where they are adjacent to the pit. The approach deck footings will be 300 x 300 x 300 minimum depth concrete pads. The footings will be dug using an excavator.

The windows of the structure will comprise of Luxaflex sliding screens in a aluminium headbox which will be able to be pulled down to stop any light getting into the building when audiovisual presentations are being undertaken or alternatively in adverse weather conditions. Two of these screens will be 1600mm in height x 2250 mm width and the other two will be 1600mm x 1050 mm in width.

The roof of the structure will be pitched and will comprise of Colourbond custom Orb Dune roofing. This is to ensure that it blends in with the existing structures located in the precinct. A 4500 litre rainwater tank will be located on the back left of the structure. The slab for the rainwater tank is 100mm concrete reinforced with F72 mesh 40 from top laid on 0.2mm poly moisture barrier on a compacted granular base. The rainwater tank is 1.7 metre diameter.

A 600m x 600m precast pad will be installed and an electrical pressure pump will be securely affixed to the concrete pad. This will be located next to the rainwater tank.

A generator will be used to undertake the works. This will only be used from Monday to Friday 7:00am to 16:30pm
