Tender Details
Supply to the Department of Environment & Climate Change of up to 2 million Kangaroo tags per year for each of 3 years, individually numbered in contrasting colour (Up to three different colour combinations may be required each year)
Each year up to two million tags will be required, depending on the commercial quota. Tags are to be numbered consecutively from 0000001 to 2000000 for each year. Up to three colours of tags may be required each year. In addition to the numbers, each tag is to be marked (e.g.) for 2008.
Tags are to be coloured with contrasting coloured numbering. Numbers must not wear or wash off during the processing of the skins. The range of colour combinations available is to be provided. The final choice of colour/s for each year is decided by the DECC.
The tags are required to be applied to kangaroo carcasses and must be capable of withstanding rough treatment both during the removal of the skins from carcasses and during drum salting.
Each tag must be easily applied and locked by hand only. The tag, once applied, must not be removable without destroying it. The tag must not deteriorate in any way in temperatures below freezing or up to 70°C or if wet.
The tag must not become difficult to apply or lock under these conditions.
Packaging requirements are detailed in the specifications provided in the tender document.
An initial delivery of 500,000 is required by 15 November, e.g. initial delivery of 2008 tags by 15 November 2007. Subsequent orders will be placed as the demand requires. A delivery WITHIN one month of any order will be required. Tenders should detail any extra charges for orders decreasing in 100,000 tag lots.
