Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water / Renewal of Fire Trails within Cocoparra National Park and Cocopara Nature Reserve - SR3365081232

 

This project covers renewal and upgrade works for the strategic fire trails within Cocoparra National Park. This scope contains the requirements for the works to be undertaken. The fire trails are to be renewed in order to comply with the Rural Fires Act 1997 and meet the requirements for Category 1 fire trails as set out in the NSW RFS Fire Trail Standards 2016 – Version 1.1 (NSW Rural Fire Service, 2019).

 

This project will include civil works to renew and upgrade four fire trails. The total distance to be covered by these works will be approximately 47 km and will utilise the existing fire trail footprint where possible. Works that involve disturbing new ground will be clearly identified in this document and on-site. Full methodologies for the construction of fire trails can be found in the Fire Trail Design, Construction and Maintenance Manual (Soil Conservation Service NSW, 2017), this document is publicly available and is to be used as reference only.
