Tender Details

The Interpretation Plan will aim to improve visitor enjoyment and understanding of the cultural values and significance of the World Heritage listed Old Great North Road.

The Interpretation Plan will:

Provide an analysis of current visitation and develop a strategy on visitation to accompany the preferred future works and interpretation of the site.

Review, refine and priorities the key themes for Old Great North Road through research and consultation with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive consideration of all factors pertaining to the statement of significance of the site.

Provide a clear policy and a detailed, staged strategic framework to guide the development of all future Old Great North Road interpretation initiatives.

Provide the key mechanisms for sharing the stories of the Old Great North Road with visitors.

Provide for a range of interpretive facilities and programs which address the different needs, abilities and interests of visitors.

Research innovative technologies used to present information to the visitor and recommend those most suited to the remote site.

Contribute to and enhance visitor understanding for all visitors to experience and learn more about the place.

Identifiy opportunities for key community stakeholder engagement with interpretation project planning, development and presentation.

Demonstrate best practice interpretation facilities consistent with relevant state, national and international standards and guidelines.

Estimated Timeframe for Delivery
