Tender Details

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) established the Biodiversity Credits Supply Fund (the Supply Fund) to accelerate the supply of biodiversity credits available to meet demand from major projects and infrastructure development. The Supply Fund is operated by the Nature Markets and Offsets Division (formerly the Credits Supply Taskforce) as part of the department. Through the Supply Fund, Nature Markets and Offsets is conducting a reverse auction to purchase credits through a competitive process.

Credits purchased through the Supply Fund will be re-sold to public or private proponents to meet their offset obligations or to other credit buyers seeking to buy credits for philanthropic or strategic purposes. Proceeds from the sale of the credits will be re-invested in the purchase of more credits to provide long-term investment in biodiversity and credit supply.

This reverse auction is seeking credits for which there is anticipated demand in the next six (6) months and provides an opportunity for owners of these credits and prospective owners of these credits to submit a bid to sell them to the department. Accepted Bids will be selected through a competitive process.
