The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) are required to control wild dogs in order to meet its legislative and other management responsibilities. Strategic and reactive management of wild dogs is guided by the Regional Operations Plan, Regional Pest Management Strategy and Wild Dog Management Plans with the primary aim of minimising the impact of wild dogs on neighbour’s livestock as well as meeting the statutory obligations under the Local Land Services Act and Local Land Services (Wild Dogs) Pest Control Order 2014.

Riverina Highlands Area is a significant stakeholder in three wild dog management plan areas. In order for Riverina Highlands Area to manage wild dogs across the Area, control works need to occur concurrently in various locations and be able to be implemented within short timeframes that are dictated by the occurrence of stock attacks and other wild dog activity.

The aim of this tender is to attract experienced, efficient and reliable suppliers able to undertake this work. In order to provide the necessary flexibility for NPWS to implement the work, a panel of preferred suppliers is being established where a number of successful tenderers will be selected within each of the three wild dog management areas. NPWS may engage with one, or a number of preferred suppliers from the list, to carry out works in accordance with this contract at its discretion. Tenderer/s should be aware that their potential inclusion onto the panel of preferred suppliers will in no way guarantee them any work and are advised to take this into consideration when preparing their submissions.
