TLM-Intervention Monitoring, Australasian and little bittern presence and breeding surveys 2019-20.
Two rounds of surveys across eight wetlands covering an area of 1,840 hectares of forested wetlands are to be conducted when calling begins, and when peak breeding activity is occurring (calling usually begins around September/October, and peak calling period is around December) to quantify Australasian and little bittern presence and abundance in Barmah-Millewa’s wetlands. The quantity,location and timing of bittern presence will be determined.

The NSW Government has recently launched over $16 million funding to assist manufacturers install energy efficient equipment, energy metering and improve their manufacturing processes. This will help businesses save energy and money. Delivered by the Office of Environment and Heritage, matched funding up to $120,000 per manufacturing site is available for projects that save stationary energy (gas and electricity). A review of flood modelling approaches and the influence of climate change on flood sensitivity in New South Wales
The project will deliver two reports. The first report will collate and synthesise findings from flood studies on NSW catchments and regions that address flood frequency, streamflow and changes in inundation, with a focus on the types of flood models used, and findings where climate change was incorporated. The report may also draw on relevant national and international examples. This report will inform considerations for future modelling of state-wide changes in flooding under climate change. The second report will collate and synthesise information on flood-prone areas in the state toward describing the sensitivity of NSW regions and catchments to flooding. This synthesis report will include tabularisation and spatial mapping of flood-prone areas and flooding events across NSW. This report will contribute to OEH’s assessment of sensitivity and exposure of multiple hazards under climate change on a state-wide scale.

Provision of laboratory asbestos testing services under a panel arrangement
This RFQ is intended to cover the supply of asbestos testing services in both raw fragments/materials, soils, and other matrices on an as-required basis. Raw fragments/materials account for the majority of samples that require asbestos testing, followed by bulk materials/soils. Asbestos testing for matrices other than these are generally not required. It is estimated that approximately 550 raw fragments/materials samples and 100 soil samples will require asbestos testing annually. However, please note that these quantities are provided as estimates only, and the agency is not obliged to make such purchases because the agency cannot reasonably project its future needs for asbestos testing services. Purchases will be made based upon the agency’s needs. The agency reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantities to meet its actual needs without any adjustments in the price per sample.

This project forms one of the major mechanisms for the BCT to influence regional communities through working with regional students across NSW. This project will assist the BCTs objectives as described in the Draft Education Strategy (mainly through the 2 nd listed audience groups, however also indirectly influencing the 1 st and 3 rd audiences). These audience-focused objectives are: influence more landholders in priority investment areas to participate in private land conservation raise public awareness about the importance of biodiversity and biodiversity conservation on private land assist our agreement holders in effective conservation and sustainable land management. The purpose of this project is to work closely with the BCT to co-design, then lead a landscape pilot then state-wide school’s project, that could deliver against these objects. Specifically, this project seeks to raise the awareness of biodiversity conservation and the BCT itself within targeted regional communities through working with regional schools and BCT landholders through the delivery of field days, creation of landholder case studies, facilitation of celebration events and the development of interactive learning resources.
