Tender Details

Bridge Renewal Works – Culverts Upgrade at Peach Tree Road, Megalong.

The bridge on Peach Tree Road is located in the road reserve near LOT 166, DP 751647 on MapInfo layer Easting: 243,169m, Northing: 6,267,312m.

The existing structure consists of twin culverts, buried corrugated metal structure (BCMS), located on Peach Tree Road, Megalong Valley approximately 2.7km from the intersection with Megalong Road. It is understood that these culverts may have been installed in the early 1980’s as part of a re-alignment of this section of the roadway.  The works include the removal of damaged sections of existing corrugated culvert sections and the installation of a 225mm thick reinforced shotcrete arch ring following the profile of the existing.  The extent of the works is for the entire length of both culverts. To prevent future scour, gabion mattresses shall be installed at either end of the culverts, this will prevent further undermining of the existing culverts.  Peach Tree Road is taken as travelling from East to West.
