Tender Details

This contract is for Construction of the proposed extension of Indoor Courts and new Tennis Centre at Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope Gardens.

Council Reserve 797 is located at the intersection of Stanhope Parkway and Sentry Drive, Stanhope, and is the location of the Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope (BLCS) and the Dennis Johnson Library.

The undeveloped open space adjacent to the BLCS is approximately 11 hectares in area and has been the subject of substantial recreation planning analysis. In May 2010 Council endorsed the development of a 16 court, including exhibition court, Plexicushion tennis centre at Reserve 797, with the aim of achieving Tennis Australia Regional Tennis Centre status.

A.J & C Architects and their sub-consultants have designed and are documenting both the Tennis Facility and extensions to the existing Leisure Centre Complex in the form of additional indoor basketball courts, change facilities, office and club room facilities.

The proposed development will include following,

Playing area:

•16 tennis courts, including an exhibition court, constructed with Plexicusion surfacing, fencing, associated lighting and civil engineering  and exhibition court seating

•Spectator seating

•Access pathways throughout playing area, including landscaping

•Extension to existing sealed car park, provision of car park lighting

•Site entry off Stanhope Parkway and associated road works, including landscaping

Building extension:

•Separate entry and building façade for tennis complex, including landscaping. Integration with existing building is the current preferred concept. Building extension must not impact on future building extension and expansion possibilities.

•Male and female change room facilities including showers

•Administration office space and meeting facilities

•Thoroughfare access between the two operating areas of the building (Leisure Centre and Tennis Complex)

•Competition control room

•Social area / club house

•Pro shop

•Provision of shared plant and equipment (shared between Leisure Centre and Tennis Complex)

•Outdoor shaded area and possible BBQ or picnic space, including landscaping
