Council undertook a Flood Study for Haslams Creek in 1999 and Haslams Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan in 2003. In addition to the above study, in 2004 Council under took a review of the Lidcombe town centre area catchment on Joseph Street Branch and in 2007 the area between Railway parade and Water Street on Haslams Creek Branch using TUFLOW.
In 2011 Council under took the Phillips park basin design. Part of this design project a TUFLOW model was established for the Arthur Street catchment.
Council has received a grant funding from Office of Environment to review the above study and plan.
The subject project is required to be completed by 28 June 2013. Council requires the consultant to
• Prepare a flood study and inundation maps for all design storm events stated in Section A3 including overland flow paths.
• Review the exiting Floodplain Risk Management Plan and prepare an amended Floodplain Risk Management Plan including appropriate flood mitigation options incorporating overland flow paths.
Pervious flood study was carried out by using Hec RAS hydraulic modelling and Rafts hydrology modelling. Also the study area of the previous study was upstream of M4 motor way.
