Hawkesbury City Council owns and operates its own Waste Management Facility located on the corner of Blacktown Road and The Driftway, South Windsor. As part of the construction of the most recently constructed landfill cell the excavated sand was stockpiled onsite. There is approximately 20,000m³ of sand to be removed from the site within 6 months from the commencement of the contract. The sand is estimated to weigh approximately 30,000tonnes, when calculated using a conversion factor of 1.5tonnes/m³.
