Tender Details
This tender is for Contract No. 10 / 2013 – Construction of Masonry Retaining Walls at Cox Place Glendenning for Blacktown City Council with the method of payment being Lump Sum, not subject to Rise and Fall in costs.
Tenderers must be experienced and capable in the construction of masonry retaining walls up to 5 metres in height on reinforced concrete piers and footings.
The works involve the construction of variable height masonry retaining walls, some two tier, with a total length of 760 metres for a 16 lot industrial subdivision in Cox Place Glendenning.
Tenderers are encouraged to submit innovative choices of finish to the face of the walls, particularly those facing Cox Place, providing methods of deterring and/or protecting against graffiti and creating aesthetically attractive and sustainable face of the retaining walls with minimal need for maintenance.
The base lump sum price is to include your preferred wall facing. Alternative wall facings are encouraged to be submitted as “extra-over” costs to the base lump sum price.

The earthworks behind the retaining walls will be removed by others to allow for the construction of the footings and walls. The survey, setting out, excavation, boring and construction of the cast-in-place reinforced concrete piers and footings and the construction of the retaining walls including anti-graffiti treatment and certification by the designers will be the responsibility of the wall constructor.
Once the walls are certified by the designer the backfilling behind the walls with select fill will be carried out by others.
The tendered prices shall be inclusive of GST.

The Tenderer shall provide documentary evidence to prove it has the necessary financial capacity, experience, competence, resources, WHS management, and quality management to carry out the Works and a commitment to ecological and environmental sustainability and equal employment opportunity and fair employment (tenderers must pay wages in accordance with a relevant modern award or approved enterprise agreement).

Tenders may be submitted either by use of electronic means via the website, https://tenders.nsw.gov.au/wsroc/ or by hardcopy form in a sealed envelope and placed in the tender box located on the ground floor of Blacktown City Council Civic Centre, 62 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown.
All methods of submitting tenders shall be received before the closing time and date for tenders as indicated in the advertisement.
The submission of tenders by facsimile or email shall not be accepted by Council.
Estimated Timeframe for Delivery
It is anticipated that Letter of Acceptance will be issued shortly after the Ordinary Meeting of Council on12 June 2013.
