Tender Details
Katoomba Tennis Centre - Repairs to retaining walls, fences and resurfacing of courts.
Katoomba Tennis Centre is a Council owned recreational facility. The site has been developed using the cut and fill technique. As a result, four retaining walls have been constructed around the northern and western sides of the site. Three of these walls are failing and require remediation or replacement. Currently public access in front of these walls is not possible as a risk management measure.
It is anticipated that the works will require the closure of the tennis courts for a period of time. It is desirable that this closure is as short as possible. Additionally, works being conducted on the site will need to be managed in order to prevent damage to the court surfaces and underlying base. It should also be noted that the tennis club propose to replace some of the court surfaces and an opportunity exists to work with the tennis club to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome in terms of timing. The tennis club would like the replacement of the synthetic grass surfaces to be managed by Blue Mountains City Council.
