Tender Details
The Angus Creek Stormwater Harvesting Project intends to provide a sustainable water supply to irrigate playing fields at the Blacktown International Sports Centre and other council reserves. The project will extract urban stormwater from Angus Creek, an unregulated creek which flows into Eastern Creek in the South Creek Catchment, during high flow events and put this water into an above ground storage facility currently being constructed by Council. The stormwater extracted will be treated through a combination of open water wetlands and disinfection prior to distribution and controlled irrigation.
To extract water from rivers within NSW, a water access licence (WAL) and/or other approvals from the NSW Office of Water are required in accordance with the
Water Management Act 2000 (NSW). This extraction must also be within the provisions of the relevant Water Sharing Plan (WSP) for the particular water source where the extraction will occur.
In this case, the licences, and/or associated unit shares, must be designated to the Lower South Creek Management Zone within the Hawkesbury and Lower Nepean Rivers Water Source in accordance with the
Water Sharing Plan for the Greater Metropolitan Region Unregulated River Water Sources 2011 (WSP)
Council seeks this contract to identify those who are willing to provide such licence unit shares for sale.
