Tender Details

Blacktown City Council (“Council”) is required under Section 422 of the Local Government Act, 1993 to appoint a suitably qualified person as its auditor.  The auditor reports to the elected Council on the General Purpose and Special Purpose Financial Reports of the Council, which are prepared annually in accordance with the Act.

The auditor is also required to report to Council on various matters prescribed by the Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting.

In 2001/02 Council established Blacktown Venue Management Limited (“BVM”), a separate legal entity responsible for the operational management of Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney.

Council has full ownership of BVM, which is a public company limited by guarantee.  The Company’s constitution requires the appointment of a registered company auditor for a fixed level of remuneration with the duties of the auditor to be regulated in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001.

The auditor will be appointed for Council as well as BVM.
