Council is seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced person/s, firms or entities for the provision of WHS services to form a panel of service providers for the three (3) years with an optional extension of one (1) year.
Council has held a self-insurance licence from the WorkCover Authority for workers’ compensation since 1991. Council is a N.S.W. Workers' Compensation self-insurer with exposure for claims up to a sum of $750,000 each event. An Excess of Loss policy is underwritten with a commercial underwriter, which provides protection to the scheme with coverage being provided from $750,000 to unlimited for every event. At the conclusion of each financial year, an independent Actuary assesses the outstanding liability of the scheme.
As a self-insurer, licencing requires compliance with the Workcover WHS Audit processes. Audits are required based on the Workcover WHS self-insurance model, system development and implementation must meet a minimum standard. Panel members are expected to be familiar with Workcover licencing requirements as they relate to Work Health & Safety.
