WSROC / Management and Operation of Council's Existing Senior Citizens Units and the Development of Additional Independent Affordable Housing Facilities - T-2013-013

To ensure that Council is maximising its available resources and achieving the best possible outcome for its community, Council has conducted a review and assessment of its role in managing the senior citizens units.

Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to manage and operate Council’s existing senior units on its behalf in accordance with Council Policy and Rules and Regulations and in accordance with Council’s published Fees and Charges.

Without limiting the scope of this proposal Council is interested in obtaining the best return on its investments in relation to achieving the best outcomes and levels of service in the provision of units for independent living.  As such Council is considering options for the outsourcing of the management and operation of its senior citizens units.  The purpose of this brief is to outline Council’s philosophy for the provision of independent living units and identify potentially suitably qualified and experienced providers of these management services.

Council has also identified land in Tavistock and Edgar Streets Auburn that is considered to be potentially suitable for the expansion of independent affordable living accommodation.
