Council is calling for a suitable qualified Contractor to construct the Auburn Town Centre Streetscape Upgrade. The major works being undertaken include: Demolition and disposal of existing footways, partial road pavement, trees, street furniture, outdoor dining structures, kerb & gutters and street lighting, Mill and resheet existing road surface and construct new blisters and traffic islands, Reconstruction of kerb and gutter sections, road pavement, footpaths and kerb ramps, Supply and Installation of Multi-function poles including electrical supply and distribution, Supply and installation of new traffic signals and all associated equipment, Supply and installation of street furniture, which includes bins, seats, picnic settings, play equipment and planter boxes, Supply and installation of new outdoor dining areas with shade structures, Stormwater sections replacement under proposed footpath widening and construction of new pipe sections, gully pits and manholes, Landscaping work including tree pits, tree and shrub supply and planting and subsoil drainage, Linemarking and supply & installation of traffic and parking signage, and Preparation of As Built documentation.

Disposal of Excavated Material and Concrete
Council is calling for responses from suitably experienced and qualified Contractors for the supply of licensed facility where excavation material and concrete originated from construction and maintenance of Auburn City Council’s roads can be disposed legally. Councils historical annual expenditure on the material has been Excavated Material - $75,000.00 per annum, Excavated Concrete - $25,000.00 per annum. The Facility is required to be located within a reasonable distance so as to minimise travel time for Councils vehicles and is required to accept - Road sub-grade material, mainly clay, Base course material which will mainly include road base, sandstone and shale, Concrete reinforced and unreinforced from removal of kerb and gutter, footpaths, driveways, drainage structures and concrete pipes. The Contract term will be Two (2) Years from the date of the Letter of Acceptance, There will be an additional Two (2) One (1) Year extensions which may be exercised at the Councils discretion.

Healthy Communities Initiative
The Healthy Communities program is a Federal Government initiative to improve health and reduce the risk of chronic disease. As part of this program Council wishes to engage an organisation or individuals to deliver two healthy lifestyle projects: BEAT IT which is a program to prevent diabetes and HEAL which is a health education, nutrition and exercise program aiming at people with or at risk of chronic disease. The individual projects can be tendered for separately or as a package. . It is expected that the successful party/parties will have an understanding of preventative health practices and be able to deliver the program through qualified health professionals who have or will be prepared to gain additional skills available through national training programs The Healthy Communities Intiative is to be delivered to adults who are mostly not in the paid workforce. Key target groups are identified in section 5 the Project Brief. However as Auburn is a multicultural community an understanding and experience of working with diverse communities and effective engagement practices with these communities is essential. The programs will be monitored by the program facilitators and information collected to allow for program evaluation. Information about of the scope of the project, its duration, and expected outcomes is detailed in section 5 of this document
