Tender Details
Park & Ride Commuter Car Parking management systems, operation and maintenance, and new car park technology.
TfNSW currently has over 300 commuter car parks across New South Wales. The Park&Ride program commenced in 2018 and is designed to free-up more spaces at commuter car parks for those who want to travel on public transport. There are currently around 23 Park&Ride car parks in operation. This number will increase as more commuter car parks are added to the Program.
TfNSW will be adding and upgrading a number of locations. It is anticipated that additional locations will be added later date during the contract period.
Park&Ride car parks have entries and exits controlled by boom gates and use number plate recognition that is integrated with the TfNSW Opal system to verify a Customer has taken a valid public transport trip. Customers do not need to tap an Opal card to enter a Park&Ride car park. Boom gates at exits are designed to open automatically when a public transport customer uses an accepted Opal card to tap out as they are leaving the car park or when they have registered for a Park&Ride with Transport Connect account. To validate free parking, a valid trip must be completed on public transport during the time the vehicle was parked. If a valid trip has not been completed the customer would be required to pay for parking. The car parks do not accept cash and if payment is required this is via the credit and debit payment terminals located at the exit.
Further information can be found here: www.transportnsw.info/parkandride.
