Tender Details
University of Technology Sydney (UTS) has a significant multi-site campus across Ultimo, Moore Park and Botany. UTS is expanding its use of cloud partners to support all workloads apart from HPC that will remain on premise. This tender is focussed on the development of a new networking strategy for cloud-based workloads. UTS aims to develop a more secure and flexible cloud-based capability to address staff requirements and support hybrid teaching.
UTS is seeking to modernise its enterprise network and maintain high reliability for its end users. This will predominantly involve moving to a ‘Wireless by default, Wired by exception’ network to enable the 2027 strategy and enhance user experience through improved mobility. In the future state, UTS will have moved to a network infrastructure with all possible endpoints connected by Wi-Fi with most desktop and laptop wired connections connecting to the network through Wi-Fi connections. We recognise and anticipate there will remain a need for wired connection where there is high bandwidth uses such as IoT, security and AV. Maintaining internal service levels, and providing training to UTS network staff, will remain key requirements.
UTS seeks a suitable organisation to provide professional services for the development of a technology vendor agnostic Network Strategic Direction that will guide effective industry engagement for a future state UTS network environment.
