Growth Chamber for Wollongbar

The Department of Primary Industries is seeking tenders for the procurement of a prefabricated, weatherproof, controlled environment growth chamber. The chamber is to be installed on piered footings.

The growth chamber is to be approximately 12m long x 3.4m wide and consist of an entry ante-room and two growth rooms. Each growth room is to be approximately 4.5 x 3m wide. The chamber is to have 

•Gutters and downpipes

•Have temperature control approx. range 15 – 35°C with an allowable 2°C Variation 

        across entire room 

•Relative Humidity Control: 50-85%  maintained to within 5%

•CO2 Monitoring and passive control of fresh air intake

•HEPA filtration, pre-filtration

•Integrated dehumidification

•LED Grow lights – Heliospectra Mitra X FLEX or equivalent (suitable for a variety of crop species and including far red control) in both growth chambers. Intensity: 1000µmol/m²/s

•10x roof hung drop-down GPO’s in each growth room (2 rows of 5) plus 2x standard wall fittings

•Installation to include an independent modem/router with sim card for remote access

•Data logging of all climate parameters (USB and remote) temperature, relative humidity, and CO2

•Chemical resistant anti-slip flooring

•5 ethernet ports in each grow room

•General lighting in all rooms

•Minimum 2x standard tap fittings in each room

•RO water supply to each chamber

•Emergency eyewash station in ante chamber

•Emergency LED light in all 3 rooms – 90min duration

•Exit LED light in all 3 rooms

•Optical and thermal fire detection system in all 3 rooms

•Duress alarm push button in all 3 rooms

•Audible and visual Alarm siren

•Emergency door release at air lock

The tender is to include delivery to site and assembly of the chamber if required.

Commissioning and training for staff is also to be included.
