Lifetime Care provides lifetime care and support for people in NSW severely injured in motor accidents, regardless of who was at fault in the accident. The scheme, which is funded through a levy paid by motorists when they purchase a CTP Green Slip, currently supports around 1200 people. As of 1 October 2017, Lifetime Care has been in operation for 11 years for children and 10 years for adults. Lifetime Care provides treatment, rehabilitation and care to around 1200 scheme Participants (as at March 2018). Of these, 76% have a brain injury, 22% have a spinal cord injury and 3% have either amputation or burns. Approximately 170 newly injured Participants enter the scheme each year.
The Workers Care Program provides support to severely injured workers under the NSW workers compensation scheme. The Workers Care program commenced on the 31 October 2016 and Participants with an injury prior to that date commenced transferring to icare from scheme agents in September 2016. Workers Care Program as of March 2018 had approximately 300 Participants. Of these Participants 59% have a brain injury, 31% have a spinal cord injury, and 10% have either amputation or burns. Approximately 20 newly injured workers become eligible for the Workers Care Program each year.
