Tender Details

Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) is seeking Tenders for the supply of a light utility Helicopter.
The leased Aircraft will be available for operations under DECC's AOC and will be crewed by DECC's aircrew during the contract period.
The Aircraft will be based at Bankstown Airport, Sydney, NSW.
The Contractor must carry out all necessary scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the Aircraft to ensure it remains in airworthy condition and serviceable and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
The Contractor must guarantee the exclusive availability of the Aircraft to DECC during the contract period.

The contract period is date of acceptance to 30 June 2010, with options to extend for a further two (2) x one (1) year periods.

DECC will guarantee a minimum payment of 360 hours per full financial year, with a pro-rata number of hours for less than a full financial year. Although DECC only guarantees 360 hours within each 12 month period (full financial year) from the start of the contract, the actual hours used may be greater. In this case the Contractor will be paid for each hour flown.
The average hours flown in recent years is around 480 hours per year. However, this is based on historical data only where many factors can affect the hours flown; therefore this is an indicative figure only.

The Aircraft will be used for a wide range of aviation operations carried out by DECC including firefighting or other emergency incident operations as well as routine operations and the following specific aviation roles: external load carrying, aerial shooting, winching/hover entry/exit, low level observation and aerial incendiary/infrared camera operations.
