Tender Details
This Request for Tender covers the Requirement of the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) for the construction, delivery and acceptance of Category 7 and 9 Tankers, in accordance with the terms and conditions detailed herein and to the design and standard stipulated in the Specification at Part C2.
The completed tanker will comprise a fire-fighting body designed by the NSW RFS, mounted on a commercially-available, medium-rigid class cab-chassis supplied by the NSW RFS.
The work required of the Contractor will include modifications to the cab-chassis, installation of the fire-fighting body, delivery of the finished tanker to the NSW RFS and a two-year warranty on all workmanship and materials.
It is expected (though no guarantee is given) that this tender process will result in the appointment of three Contractors for the construction of Category 7 Tankers and two Contractors for the construction of Category 9 Tankers, under a Standing Offer arrangement.
Although the NSW RFS shall not be bound to order any or any particular quantity of Category 7 and 9 Tankers, tenderers should note that forty Category 7 and twenty-five Category 9 Tankers are scheduled to be constructed during the Financial Year, 2006-2007. By the Financial Year, 2006-2007, the number of tankers constructed in each year will depend on the availability of funding.
The proposed Standing Offer arrangement shall continue for a period of three years from the date of acceptance, with up to two 12-month extensions.
