Ballina and Coffs Harbour Artificial Reef Construction - RFT-10069361

The Principal will be deploying additional offshore artificial reefs off the Ballina and Coffs coasts to increase recreational fishing opportunities in the regions.

This follows on from successful deployment of 11 artificial reefs off the NSW coastline. The primary objective of the Works is to improve offshore recreational fishing opportunity by creating a new fish habitat and providing additional fish locations (http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/resources/artificial-reef). 

The scope of the Works (as detailed within the Statement of Requirements) includes the design, fabrication, transportation, and installation of a minimum of 2 steel towers of up to 12 metres in height at each project site – Ballina and Coffs. Concrete may be used as ballast, although it should be noted that poly fibres will not be considered as an acceptable aggregate for this project and therefore excluded from the scope.
