With You Project - First Nations Module consultation and design - RFT-10060821

This procurement will engage a First Nations consultant to codesign and develop training material for the legal assistance sector, from October 2023 to April 2024. The aim of training is to ensure that First Nations people experiencing distress, poor mental health and/or suicidality receive culturally safe and appropriate services from the sector.

This procurement is part of the With You project, a national training package for trauma-informed, rights-based legal services to people experiencing distress, poor mental health and/or suicidality. 

With You is the first national co-design project in the legal assistance sector. National consultations with 534 clients with lived experience, carers, legal and other professionals indicated the need for specific training addressing culturally safe services for First Nations clients. 

The successful tenderer will undertake national consultations with First Nations people and produce a summary report, develop culturally safe eLearning training and train-the-trainer materials. 

With You training will be freely available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services, Family Violence Prevention Legal Services, Community Legal Centres and Legal Aid Commissions. Legal Aid NSW was granted Commonwealth funding, on behalf of a consortium of Legal Aid Commissions, to lead the development and delivery of the training package from 2022 to 2025.
