PDNSW is seeking EOIs from Respondents for the purchase of Lot 3, the former Heritage Gaol within the broader former Grafton Correctional Centre. The purpose of the EOI is to identify Respondents and their EOI Responses which best satisfy the Project Objectives and which PDNSW may Shortlist to be involved in a Further Stage of the procurement process.
The sale is anticipated to be delivered through a sales agreement between Property NSW and the Successful Respondent, with freehold tenure to be granted to the successful Respondent.
The property is situated within the heart of Grafton town centre, which forms part of the Clarence Valley region. Designed by Sydney Architect, Henry Austin Wilshire, the former maximum-security gaol comprises 9,085 sqm and is State Heritage listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register. The former correctional centre site has been recently subdivided to pave the way for new future uses allowing for the adaptive re-use of the buildings on site. The current zoning is SP2 – Correctional Facility.
