Tender Details
The objective of the Nimmie-Caira Property Development Opportunity Expression of Interest (EOI) is to formally approach the market to source a suitable Non-Government Entity (NGE) to purchase or lease the property.
The outcome of the EOI will be the selection of short listed lead proponents, who will be invited to participate in the Proposal Development Request (PDR) phase proposed to commence in September 2017.
Non-lead proponents specialising in economic and/or Aboriginal cultural heritage and/or environmental management of land will be placed in a pool from the EOI to help develop consortiums with successful short listed lead proponents during the PDR phase.
A Short Listed Lead Proponent may form a consortium with entities who they believe has appropriate skills, experience and capabilities either from the EOI pool of non-lead proponents or otherwise.
Short listed lead proponents will be involved in an interactive PDR process. The approach will be to engage with short listed lead proponents as they develop their development proposals, providing them opportunity to test commercial, specialist and technical concepts.
The future NGE’s Scope of Work will include:
• Manage and fund the maintenance and operation of government environmental water infrastructure.
• Manage and fund activities to protect and enhance environmental and aboriginal cultural assets;
• Develop and manage any commercial operations (i.e. farming, tourism, etc.) on Nimmie-Caira.
Nimmie-Caira Key Property Features:
• An opportunity to achieve Environmental, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and Commercial outcomes from a significant economic asset;
• Nationally recognised ecologically significant wetland areas throughout the property;
• Most recently one of the largest organic grain production areas in Australia;
• Potential for non-traditional income sources including but not limited to bio-banking and biodiversity offsets, private native forests, inclusive social solutions and tourism;
• An opportunity to demonstrate a truly innovative business model that can achieve a sustainable return for the operator, the environment and local communities.

Conditions for Participation
Roundtable Briefing sessions will be held in Sydney on the 7th June 2017 and in Griffith on the 8th June 2017. The time and place for these briefings will be advised.
Attendance at the roundtable events is not mandatory. Webinar facilities will be provided to enable remote access to the Sydney event on the 7th June.

A Proponent may be represented at the briefing by a maximum of two people. Confirm attendance with the Contact Person by noon on the business day before the briefing.
