Dredging Priority Regional Navigation Channels at Various Locations NSW - 19-147-1

NSW Department of Industry -– Lands and Water (DoI) intend to

undertake maintenance dredging of priority regional Navigation

Channels at various locations in NSW as follows: • Coffs Harbour,

Boat Harbour and Boat Ramp Approach Channels - Dredging up to

30,000 cubic metres and placement at Park beach • Port

Macquarie, Town Green Channel - Dredging of approximately

13,600 cubic metres and placement at North Shore Beach •

Batemans Bay, Clyde River Entrance - Dredging of approximately

10,000 cubic metres from the Clyde River entrance and placement

of sand at either Option 1 – The adjacent sand shoal or Option 2 –

Surfside Beach. The navigation channels to be dredged are

frequently used by both commercial and recreational vessels. Safe

navigation of the channels is compromised through the on-going

accumulation of sand through natural geomorphological processes.

Consequently, maintenance dredging has been proposed to

remove the accumulated sediment.
