Tender Details

The intention of this project is to undertake willow (Salix spp) treatment and removal activities. In addition successful Contractors will also be required to monitor and evaluate the success of these activities.  Project activities will occur in strategic locations along defined watercourse reaches throughout the Murrumbidgee catchment.  Works will be concentrated primarily in the mid area of the Murrumbidgee Catchment and will mainly occur in the Yass River.

 

Treatment and removal activities are to be undertaken so as to:

  1. minimise impacts on bank stability and fish habitat
  2. reduce the occurrence of willow reinfestation
  3. maximise native vegetation regeneration

 

Activities will include a combination of the following:

  1. poisoning
  2. cutting
  3. removal and stockpiling of willow debris
  4. disposal of stockpiled material
  5. undertake follow-up maintenance of willow reinfestation as required

 Activities will be undertaken for all willow species (all species and hybrids of the genus Salix) at any stage of growth or as other wise specified in the agreed Contract.

Prospective tenderers are initially evaluated for their proposal against the relevant selection criteria. A number of those who best meet the criteria are invited to tender. For complex or some other types of procurement, where the product or service outcomes are highly dependent on the content of the proposals received from Tenderers, the outcome may be negotiated.
