TfNSW are seeking a Construction Manager to become a part of one of our delivery teams within Infrastructure and Services, Fleet Branch.
This position plays a key role on the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project Blue Mountains Route Clearance and reports to the Project Manager, Blue Mountains Route Clearance. The primary purpose of the role is to provide on-site oversight of infrastructure construction activities, and subject matter expertise and advice regarding infrastructure / engineering constructability which will support the safe, compliant and successful delivery of the Blue Mountains Route Clearance Project, to scope and on budget.
Dimensions of role
- Represent TfNSW and manage all aspects of construction work being conducted on-site to meet the safety, environmental, schedule, cost and quality objectives of the project. There may be multiple packages of work being carried out simultaneously so there will be a strong need to manage the interfaces between discrete contracts.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation and Planning Approval requirements for the work conducted on-site.
- Coordinate with transport stakeholders and agencies, in particular with NSW Trains, Sydney Trains and Freight operators, to ensure operational requirements are considered during the conduct of the work on-site and to ensure operational impacts are mitigated.
- Provide regular reporting of work conducted on-site.
- Manage work being conducted during rail track possessions, closures and closedowns.
- Contribute to design and construction planning and procurement processes.

Work collaboratively with the NIF Project Team members, suppliers and various stakeholder groups to achieve best for project outcomes.
TfNSW are looking for an outcomes focused individual with demonstrable construction management experience in leading successful teams in the delivery of complex rail infrastructure programs of work.

Conditions for Participation
The Tenderer must demonstrate as a minimum:
1. Tertiary qualification (AQF level 4 or above) in an Engineering, or Construction discipline;
2. A minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in the Construction Management of infrastructure construction projects;
3. Demonstrated experience as a Construction Manager leading the delivery of multidisciplinary rail infrastructure construction projects with CAPEX value greater than $50 million within the last 5 years;
4. Demonstrated experience in new tunnel construction or modifying existing tunnels for the passage of rail and/or road vehicles ; and
5. Acceptance of terms in TfNSW’s Professional Services Contract
