Tender Details

Council has been implementing a renewal of the Bankstown CBD as part of developing its role as a major centre within Sydney. Key to this redevelopment is, the improvements to public infrastructure and facilities, in particular the Civic Precinct and Town Hall which would act as a catalyst to activate and revitalise the civic precinct.

The project “Adaptive re-use of the Bankstown Town Hall as the new Bankstown City Library” is a major part of the Bankstown CBD Renewal Program, which was initiated by Council in 2006, and has been refined since 2008. The CBD Renewal Program included a 4-year priority program for improvements to public infrastructure and facilities.

The preparation of the design & documentation of the new “Bankstown City Library” is the first stage of the works expected to be finalised by the end of February 2011 to lead the way for the implementations of other improvements within Civic Precinct and most importantly to obtain a “Civic Precinct Master Plan”
